I am still so in love with maxi skirts!  They are so easy to wear and can be worn in several different types of situations. I love that this one has a shorter skirt underneath and is sheer so it gives a hint of leg but not too much! Lash Genius and OOTD

So when Anastasia Beverly Hills, a beauty product store, offered to send me a product called Lash Genius to review I was quite curious.  Lash Genius is a clear top coat for mascara that is supposed to make it completely waterproof.  To be honest, make up isn't exactly my strong suit, I pretty much do the same make up look every day, but that is why I thought it might be good for me to do a review for anyone out there who is similar to me and has a pretty basic, no fuss routine.  Here are some pictures of the process:

 So we have all used mascara that claims to be "waterproof," but really isn't.  I was curious to see if this product really stood up to the test as far as causing no smudging even after a whole day of running around.  I was pleasantly surprised!  As you can see in my end of the day picture, there is no running underneath my eye, usually by the end of the day I at least have some smudges in the bottom corners of my eyes, but with this nothing!  I have pretty small lashes, so I also feel like it helped my lashes get further separated and keep their curl longer than just mascara alone.  I also think the brush is one of the best brush designs I have ever seen!  The corners are what I always have a hard time getting at and the tapered brush with thicker ends really gets the edges of the lashes really well.  My one and only drawback of this product is the price ($21), but unfortunately it is enough of a drawback that I probably would not purchase on my own.  I think the product really does perform the way it claims too, however a little running mascara is not enough of a worry to me to be willing to spend that kind of money on a product like this.  However, if you are not concerned with price and you are looking for a product that really prevents running/smudging then I would highly recommend!

So I found this floral skirt at the thrift store and I fell in love with it.  The pattern is really large and bold and I feel like it looks so vibrant! Thrift stores are such a great place to find unique prints!

So the other day my bf told me he had a surprise for me ( now I have mixed feelings about surprises I love them but I hate having to wait to find out ) so after he tortured me for about 15 minutes he told me he had signed me up for a sewing class! I have some experience sewing, but no formal training so I really want to start learning the correct techniques.  I am so excited and I thought it was the sweetest thing ever because I have been talking about looking into some lessons for awhile now. It is only a two day class, but I think it will be a good jump start to developing some skills. Hopefully I can show you a nice finished product when it is all said and done!

SwimSpot

So when SwimSpot contacted me to work with them I was so excited!  Awesome swim wear can often be hard to find, and they offer unique designs by labels such as: Guess, Reef, Hurley, Luxe, etc.  Not only do they have a great variety of swim wear, they make it super easy to find exactly the suit you are looking for.  Weather it is based on the the kind of top you are looking for like Underwire Tops or Sweetheart Tops.  Or if you are looking based on your body type they also have a great section called Fit Finder that offers several different tools to help you find the most flattering fit for you!  They also have this mix and match tool called the Bikini Builder that lets you see different combinations of tops and bottoms on a model! 

Now, living in Washington I don't often find myself in a swim suit.  Not only that, but admittedly I would be a bit self conscious about taking pictures of myself only in a bikini hahah, but I was reassured that if a bathing suit was not what I was looking for I could check out their selection of cute dresses and coverups.  Which is where I found this beauty that I am wearing!  I am still obsessing over the ombre trend, I really can't help it, so when I saw this dress I knew it was perfect for me!  It comes in this color and pink if you prefer a brighter option.  It is really light weight and perfect for summer.  It has a loose shift silhouette which would be perfect for the beach, but since I was opting to wear it as a day dress I wore a slip underneath and added a belt to give it some more shape.  Even though I decided to wear it more as a dress and not a swimsuit coverup, I still wanted to style it with a laid back feel.  Overall I absolutely love it, and I feel like it can transition to different types of places and could be styled several different ways!  So go check out their site, I know you won't be disappointed.

P.S. Is it weird that I am obsessed with this concrete wall in the back of our apartment building where the dumpsters are? hahah not only is it convenient, but it is the perfect backdrop for so many looks...

Mint

So I got this sweater on sale at UO and I absolutely love it! it is the perfect light sweater that I can wear on those slightly cooler days but it is still really breathable if I am walking around a lot, plus it is mint and I am pretty sure we are all still obsessed with this color!

For the past couple of days HempFest has been going on in Seattle and it is absolutely crazy! There are tons of people , live music, food and you can guess what else.  It is actually pretty insane and a lot of fun!

Blue and Green

I absolutely love blue and green together! It is funny because I almost find it to be a slightly odd pairing based on something I can't quite put my finger on...but I think a lot of times that is what I like about an outfit. Or maybe that is just me :D

I started the kickboxing class and I really like it! I was definitely a bit nervous at first, but it is a really small class and everyone seems really nice. Not only is it an awesome workout (trust me my whole body feels like it should be out of commission for a couple of days) but it is really empowering to be able throw kicks and punches! I can honestly say before this I have never even tried to kick or punch anything with any sort of force. Now don't worry guys I am not going to go around kicking and punching people for fun hahaha but it is nice to know that I am able if I need to!

Go Jane

So I have been looking for a pair of oxfords for quite some time but hadn't been able to settle on a pair that I really liked.  So when Go Jane sent me this pair I was so stoked!  I love the tan color, but then they have this super fun sole that really makes them stand out!  I decided to pair them with a t and cutoffs, but I think they will look really cute with dresses too!  I can't wait to continue incorporating them into different outfits.

Was anyone able to watch the meteor shower this weekend?  I was outside late on Saturday night and actually saw like 3 of them!  I feel like I never actually see them when they happen so that was really neat!  Today my bf and I are going to check out a kickboxing class at a martial arts gym so I am really excited!  Wish me luck!
